The TARR ACE
The TRANSAFRICAN ROAD RALLY of the AFRICAN CULTURAL EXCHANGE
INTRODUCTION
The AFRICAN CULTURAL EXCHANGE, a United States-based non-governmental organization dedicated to cross-cultural, development, educational and healthcare exchange projects in Africa presents the TRANS AFRICAN ROAD RALLY OF THE AFRICAN CULTURAL EXCHANGE (The TARRACE), a proposed road rally across Africa for interested drivers from around the world, to serve as a goodwill sporting event to promote peace and harmony in Africa, to illustrate the natural beauty of Africa and its people and to promote tourism. In partnership with the countries through which the rally will pass, the participants, local partner NGO’s, and interested sponsors, the ACE seeks to establish a world-class event that will highlight the need for peace and harmony in Africa. The ACE hopes to utilize the global international nature of this event to generate an annual focus on the issues surrounding improvement of the humanitarian situation in Africa. It is hoped that this event will allow a greater understanding of the problems along the route and stimulate and inspire potential solutions to these problems. By having participants sponsor a local non-governmental organization that is attempting to address one of the local problems of a host country, the ACE hopes to establish enhanced grassroots partnerships between the participants and local NGO’s.
Each year in addition to the peace theme, the organization hopes to have the rally focus on a secondary issue, such as health care, education, development or cultural exchange.
